Whenever I set out to write one of these “Guides,” I’m often growing that item for the first time myself. As I do my own research, I find that there are always many opinions on the given subject, each one tweaking a common thread of instruction. I also glean as much information as I can from other gardeners or professionals in the field who have experience in growing that crop. Sometimes our customers are our best educators! After my head is swirling with info and opinions, I try to write it out “down the middle.” Then after I myself have grown that crop, I can go back and edit based on my own experience, if necessary. But overall what I’ve experienced is that Nature is pretty forgiving and there’s a fair amount of “wiggle room” in how we do things.
